We used React Native for shared business logic across iOS and Android — not as a shortcut, but because the alternative (two separate native codebases) would have doubled QA effort for security patches. The Node.js backend uses end-to-end encryption for all communications, with tokenization so card data never lives on our servers. We integrated an ML-based fraud detection layer that flags suspicious patterns in real time without creating false positives that lock out real customers. Biometric auth (Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint) was built using platform-native SDKs so it integrates with the OS security model. PCI DSS Level 1 compliance was built in from the first sprint, not bolted on before launch.
